I am trying to turn over a new leaf and KEEP my house clean. We had an appraisal yesterday and killed ourselves getting the house ready...because it was a disaster! So...the idea is that now I will KEEP it in this condition, somehow it sounds easier to maintain, although it's been clean before and we haven't been able to maintain even for a few days. I am giving myself this challenge and trying to give myself some accountability as well by telling lots of people about it and blogging about it as well. I figure I need a goal, so for now the goal is my birthday, Jan. 22, 2011. I will blog everyday to report since I figure I need to clean every day to keep it in this condition. I don't really know who I'm reporting to, maybe just myself, but I figure it's good to have some accountability. So that's the challenge, and I am UP for it!!
For the record, I've never NEVER been good at cleaning. Probably because I don't like it. I mean I REALLY don't like cleaning. I don't like it so much I don't even make my kids do it very often because I feel sorry for them when they have to clean. I'm a bad example and I'm not training them very well. I worry about this. I'm also embarrassed when people drop by and I hesitate to invite anyone over because I know it will take some serious effort to get things in an acceptable state. So...this is the background, this is why my new cleaning challenge is so monumental.
Here's a cute pic of Davy in our messy kitchen, yeah, he's makin' it messy for good reason, but this is just an example of how it can get.
And how it looks today
